Beyond Carrier Portals: The Multi-Carrier Tracking Advantage
Managing global Track & Trace across multiple ocean carriers – like Maersk, MSC, CMA CGM, and Hapag-Lloyd – often leads to fragmented visibility. Manual status checks consume valuable operational hours and leave logistics teams vulnerable to unexpected port delays or missed transshipments. Pier2Pier replaces fragmented tracking with a single operational control tower for both ocean freight and Master Air Waybill (MAWB) air shipments.
Key Tracking & Surveillance Features
- Unified Ocean & Air Tracking: Monitor ocean containers by B/L or container number alongside air cargo via MAWB in a consolidated dashboard.
- Vessel & Route Surveillance: Track vessel movements in real time and monitor key maritime hubs, rail terminals, and container depots via an interactive world map.
- Automated Exception Alerts: Set up automated email notifications for milestones, unexpected schedule changes, and port delays to notify clients proactively.
- Fleet Export & Shareable Statuses: Export multi-container tracking logs or share direct surveillance links with export teams, consignees, and freight forwarding partners.

Track & Trace options
You will find the track and trace option on the main page (the Dashboard/Cockpit). You can track container, vessels, air freight and couriers.

Container Tracking and Surveillance
To start tracking a container just type in your container number and click track.

When you track a container, you will be able to see which shipping line is used and the tracking information. In the top right-hand corner, you can setup container surveillance.

Container surveillance
Container surveillance will tricker an email with any major updates or changes. E.g. a change in the ETA (Estimated Time of Arrival)
You will receive max. 1 update per 24 hours. If there are no updates you won’t receive an email.
Now just select a surveillance start date and an end date and add your reference for the container.

On the Main Page/Cockpit, you will finde the Track & Trace Surveillance optionality under the section Most Popular in the top left-hand meny.
On the Track & Trace Surveillance page you will see all the containers you currently have on surveillance – and previous on surleillance.
The red colors shows when surveillance started and which days you received an alert. Each time the color changes to a darker shade it indicates that you received an email. In other words: The darker the color – the more changes were made.

Vessel Tracking
Type in the vessel name and click track.
You will only be able to track container vessels and Ro-Ro vessels.

When you track a vessel, you will see:
- Live Location
- Last radio signal
- Status/ETA
- Destination
- Lloyds (IMO) Number
The red line shows the route it’s followed.
All the orange dots are radio transmitted signals coming of the vessel.

Air Freight
You can track air freight, just type in your MAWB (Master Air Waybill) number and click track.

Courier
To track Couriers, type in your courier number and click track. You can track shipments from DHL, UPS, FedEx and TnT.
